YES, Buhari Met With Tony Blair- Blair’s Office Says

There has been speculations ever since a photo of APC’s presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari and that of former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair appeared online on Saturday alongside Governor Amosun of Ogun State and Bukola Saraki shortly after having a meeting with Mr. Blair, with a lot of people saying the photograph was photoshopped and Buahri only went to UK for medical treatment. Premium Times in a bid to know the truth sent a mail to Mr Blair’s office and it was confirmed that the meeting actually held.
“Mr. Blair had a private meeting with General Muhammadu Buhari in London,” said Rianne Buter in an email response to the widely read paper. Ms. Buter also noted that Mr. Blair hopes to visit Nigeria shortly when he will see the President.
In a very similar news, Chatham House has also confirmed that Mr. Buhari will be speaking on Thursday on the topic: “Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition”.
Details of the event as posted on the website of Chatham House also revealed that Mr. Buhari would speak for one hour between 10 and 11a.m. and the event would be chaired by Richard Gozney, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria between 2004 and 2007.
